I'm ilkay Öztürk. Im 23 years old now but generally i feel 15.
i love traveling, discovering, reading, listening,  to learn new things and places, to meet  people and to speak.

When i heard to EVS, let’s do it. I started to search. And i sent first motivation letter then second, thirth around 12-13.

Actually i haven’t broken my hope that i have started new job, new life. .. I met with somebody who joined to evs. They helped to me. One day, she sent a the link to me,  i look and  just referenced.  Not to much probably the reply came to me  6-7 days.

Firstly, my effect omg i’m not believe that contiuned for a while.  I wanted but i’m afraid. I called and wrote everybody. I searched and taught. I said i can do it. And i’m in here now.

I’m thinking now i’m so lucky for here . Romania very nice country. Craiova has everything just a little. But this is really good for us. Because we can go to walk everywhere. Craiova natives like to help.  Generally people can speak english. there is a lot of volunteer and student  from many countries in here.

When I arrived Craiova,I was excited and nervous. Because I didn't have language, I didn't know people , different country and I was alone first time in my life. Someone came and took me from train station then he started to speak about my trip. I tried to conversation with him. Then we arrived my flat. A guy came and helped my luggage ( I had a lot ).

He is my mentor and good friend, i felt really comfortable!
Also My first week first of December national day in Romania. We decided to travel to transilvanya. First time in my life I did hitchhiking very long distance it was amazing ! I met a lot of people and spoke with local people. We stayed Couchsurfing really good experiences and so funny.  I had second couchsurfing experience in Belgrade with my project team. We went to Belgrade for new year party together ( almost ) :).

I had to on arrival training course that is another best thing in volunteer life. Fun, friendship, learn ourself, new experiences and food together
I like it also our trainer she is really nice and she approached to fascinating to me.
Also new project started and new volunteers arrived our flat. We're like a family.

Our friends prepared flashmob with youngsters. We join them in center. That was good experience and different. They're really good people. When I met someone in on arrival, I visited them in Arad. I think arad most volunteers city in Romania. That was nice but sometimes bad. Because we're in Craiova 20-30 people. Everybody know each other who like a family every time together. We had first le revedere . Someone left from Craiova. I was upset because I felt that We'll leave a day.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On March Romanian people have traditional day name is Mărțișor. When I arrive school, they gave us wristlets, red and white colour and a lot of flower and some handmade paper. I was so happy they care about us and I felt like a teacher.
Also after women's day same something, i Felt really proud myself and children.
We had event with esn and Aiesec. All asossiacition prepared presentation about project. I did first time English presentation front of the people.
Normally i could speak a lot and share my all experiences. But language big obstacle for me. I didn't have good level and fluency. I was excited and confused everything. I was shy but okey first experience and really good step for me. Because we have 7 persons but they didn't courage, didn't believe them self.
Also we started to teach them Turkish language every 2 week.
I went also midterm training. That one similar with on arrival but that's speak about after Evs what will u do. Again same trainer with me.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For Autism awareness day we prepared flashmob. That was amazing ! We were excited and happy. Children also were happy.
Then we went to Balkan tour only by hitchhiking little bit difficult but really good. We stayed in cs place and show 6 countries 8 cities. We met a lot of interesting people and friends. Somebody really good and kind. After tour our Turkish guys had event about children's day. In turkey we celebrate every 23th April. We did same celebrate in Romania with Romanian children. We played games, sang songs, made competitions, a lot of entertainments.

Also we were in vama veche 1st of may for starting summer party :))
Then we started east Europe tour to Austria, Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary. We stayed again cs. We met a lot of people. Also we stayed in Hungary a volunteer friend flat. We met him in Romania then he showed us him country. That is another good things in Evs
